How it Works

Most e-commerce websites function with three basic components. The diagram below details these components. Our Web Cart service functions as the second of these components.

1) Your Website
Users enter your website and view the products that you have available. If you are using the enterprise edition of our Web Cart service then the product catalogue can be maintain and generated by you using our service.

2) Shopping Cart & Order Processing
Users choose the products by adding them to the basket from your website. User can then continue shopping or choose to proceed to the check out. With both of our Web Cart services the basket is provided by our servers.

When a user enters the checkout their customer and delivery information is collected. This is then made available via our Retailer Control panel.

The Web Cart service from Security-Payment.com includes a fee per transaction. An initial allowance of 2000 transactions are free before the transaction fee applies.

3) Payment Service Provider (PSP) & Internet Merchant Account
Once all the customer information is collected the user is sent to a selected Payment Service Provider to process the card payment. The Payment Service Provider communicates with your Merchant Bank to process the transaction. Many of the PSP's are now introducing the new transaction security processes from VISA and MasterCard.

In order to process payment online you will need an account with a Payment Service Provider (PSP). In order get an account with a PSP you will need an Internet Merchant Account with one of the UK's Merchant Card Processing banks.
